आज की बात कहा जय तो हम बिना कम्प्यूटर के कोई भी काम बेहतरीन नहीं कर सकतेहै। अभी के समय में यह लगभग हर क्षेत्र में अपना अधिकार कर लिया है। अर्थात यह हमारे जीवन की हर पहलु से जुड़ चूका है। चाहे वह हमारे शरीर से लेकर खाने तक हो या ज्ञान प्राप्त करने से लेकर याय प्राप्त करने तक हो। जंहा भी जाएँ हमें इनकी जरुरत पड़ती ही हैं। अगर हमलोग कम्प्यूटर की सहायता लेना छोड़ दें तो हम कई साल पीछे चले जायेंगे।
कम्प्यूटर का अविष्कार सर्व प्रथम 19 वीं सताब्दी मैं चार्ल्स बब्बेज ने किए थे। ये एक गणितज्ञ थें। सुरुवाती समय मे यह कम्प्यूटर इतनी छोटी नहीं थी। अभी हम जिस कम्प्यूटर क उपयोग कर रहें है यह पहले की तुलना में काफी अलग है है।
हार्डवेयर
हार्डवेयर कम्प्यूटर का वह भौतिक रूप होता है जिसे हम छू एवं देख सकते हैं। जैसे की माउस प्रिंटर सी पि यु इत्यादि यह कोई निश्चित रूप लिए होती है।
सॉफ्टवेयर
सॉफ्टवेयर एक निर्देशों का सेट होता जो हार्डवेयर को कार्य करने का निर्देश देता है। गेम, विंडोज , वेब ब्राउज़र इत्यादि सॉफ्टवेर हैं।

यह हमलोगो के लिए अधिक से अधिक लाभ ही देता है। बहुत से ऐसे कार्य हैं जिसे हम बिन इसकी सहायता लिए कर ही नहीं सकते। अगर हमें कृषि सम्बन्धी सहायता चाहिए तो इनकी मदद लेनी पड़ती है। अस्पताल में जाएँ तो बेहतर इलाज एवं जाँच के लिए कम्प्यूटर की जरुरत होती है। छाए वह दुकान,बाजार ,बैंक ,मौसम ,संगीत इत्यादि सब में इनकी जरुरत होती है ,और सबसे बड़ी बात की या कई आदमियों का काम , कई दिनों का काम बस कुछ सेकेण्ड में ही कर देता है। यह हर काम को कफी बेहतर एवं ठीक रूप से करता है। यह कार्यो को न के बराबर गलती करता है।

कम्प्यूटर के उपयोग
- कम्प्यूटर का उपयोग सभी दफ्तरों में की जाती है- आज कल ऑफिस के लगभग हर कामो में कम्प्यूटर की मदद ली जाती है। अगर कम्प्यूटर की मदद न ली जय तो , कामो को करने में काफी समय लग जायेगा।
- कम्प्यूटर का उपयोग हॉस्पिटल में – कम्प्यूर का उपयोग अस्पतालों में हिसाब – किताब करने के लिए किया जाता है और साथ -साथ मरीजों के उपचार तथा जाँच करने के लिए किया जाता है।
- स्कूलों में – स्कूलों में छात्र – छात्राओं को कम्प्यूटर की शिक्षा देने के लिए उपयोग किया जाता है। यंहा पर बच्चो को कम्प्यूटर से कई प्रकार के कामो को करने के लिए सिखाया जाता है।
- बैंको में – बैंकों ग्राहकों के पैसो का लेन – देन का ब्यौरा कम्प्यूटर की मदद से ही संभव हो पति है। आज बैंक की सभी काम को कम्प्यूटर की मदद से ही किया जाता है। चाहे वह पैसो की निकासी हो या जमा कराना। एक स्थान से दूसरे स्थान तक पैसो को भेजना हो इन सभी कामो को करने के लिए कम्प्यूटर की ही मदद ली जाती है।
- ट्रैन या हवाई जहाज – आज हम ट्रैन या हवाई जहाज की टिकटों को बुकिंग करने लिए दूर जाने की जरुरत नहीं होती है। क्योंकि हम आज कम्प्यूटर की मदद से घर बैठे टिक्कट बुकिंग कर सकते हैं। अब तो और भी स्थानों को बुकिंग करने के किये भी कम्प्यूटर की मदद ली जाती है। जैसे बस की टिक्कट , होटल में बुकिंग करना हो या सिनेमा हॉल की टिक्कट। इन सभी को इनकी मदद से घर बैठे बुक कर सकते हैं।
- ऑनलाइन काम- आज लगभग सभी सरकारी कामो को ऑनलाइन किया जा रहा , और इसके गैइ र सरकारी कामो को भी ऑनलाइन किया जाता है। जैसे की नौकरी के लिए फॉर्म का भरना इत्यादि।
